Tour to Ancona, from the Mole to the beaches |
Ancona
is a nice city with a big bridge. You can have an
exciting life with beautiful shops, animated squares
and it is rich of art to discover. The panoramic
street of the Conero, that links it until the
Riviera, is beautiful scenery. When you arrive at
the city, our best advice to give you is to visit
the Mole Vanvitelliana, built by the
architect Luigi Vanvitelli, where you can find
aristic, cultural and musical events. If you go from
the Mole to the centre of the city, you will arrive
at the teatro delle Muse. In this beautiful
building, with a neoclassic face, you can find every
year the l'Ancona Jazz Summer Festival. This
is a very important event with well-known
international artists. From this place, “start” the
shopping streets such as: Corso Garibaldi, Corso
Mazzini and Piazza Roma. Here, between the la
fontana delle Tredici Cannelle and the
opened-air table’s bar, you can taste lots of
typical products and wines, for example: dal Rosso
Conero alla Lacrima di Morro d'Alba, dalla Vernaccia
di Serra Petrona al Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
The typical dishes are very good also because you
can mix lots of flavours and you can taste simple
and genuine plates. One of the most appreciate
plates is the “stoccaffisso all’anconetana” with
aromatic flavour, potatoes and tomatoes. You cannot
live this city if you do not visit the Cattedrale
di San Ciriaco. situated in the colle Guasco. It
is one of the most beautiful medieval church that
are in the Marche’s region, for her Greece cross and
his roman gothic art and the Chapel of the Our Lady
with her 700’s altar built by Luigi Vanvitelli. From
the hill, you can also admire a fantastic view of
the bridge and of the sull’Arco di Traiano,
evocative memory of the roman period. An other
important panoramic point is the Passetto, a
green area located over the sea where you can reach
the animated beach. |
Roman art in the Riviera del Conero |
The
roman church is really splendid and that are located
in the Riviera del Conero. San Pietro is situated
over the monte Conero, where you can also have an
exciting view of the Numana’s bridge and the
Marcelli’s coast. This area was destroyed lots of
time also during the last war. His face was born
thanks to the 700’s repair. If you go down from the
monte Conero, you will arrive in Portonovo crossing
the provincial street of the Conero, where you can
admire suggestive landscape. If you cross the
Portonovo’s beaches you will arrive at the beautiful
construction of Santa Maria of Portonovo: it is a
romanic building that you should visit if you like
art and history. This church is located in the
natural paradise of the monte Conero. It is a real
important jewel of the roman architecture, realised
with the tread pieces of the Conero. The Greece
cross plan is divided in five naves, the dome is
divided in two parts, the drum is square. If you go
from Portonovo to the city of Ancona, you will find
the third roman church of the Riviera del Conero:
Santa Maria della Piazza. This church was
constructed around the XI and XII on the rest of two
paleocristiane churches. It represents the medieval
Ancona. It is a rectangular base of the roman
architecture with a Latin cross and it is divided in
3 naves. The portale is rich of decoration. |
